FROM STAFF REPORTS

COLUMBIANA – The Ladies Fellowship at the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene will host a fundraiser Nov. 15 in honor of Joe Moore, a local resident who died earlier this year.

The Joe Moore Memorial Christmas Project will support needy families in the Columbiana area at Christmas, according to a press release from the Ladies Fellowship at the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene.

“There are special people that we never forget,” the press release stated. “Anyone who ever knew Joe Moore of Columbiana will always remember him fondly. He was a small man in stature, but he had a big heart.”

Church members remember Moore as a “great prayer warrior” who loved children and helping people. He was an active member of the church and president of the Fellowship Sunday School class.

This year, a “Soup-er Sing” will be held Friday, Nov. 15 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the church, 20200 Highway 25, Columbiana, to benefit the Joe Moore Memorial Christmas Project.

“If you miss the days when we sang “I’ll Fly Away” or “Just Over in the Gloryland,” we welcome you to come sit around the piano and join us for four-part harmony, guitars and lots of music,” the press release stated. “A love offering for the Christmas project will be taken. Following the sing, the ladies will offer soup and fixings for sale in the Fellowship Hall.”
