Roland Carl Griffin, age 75, of Columbiana, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Dec. 11 at The Connection (Chelsea Community Church) in Chelsea with Rev. Greg Davis and Rev. Patrick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in K-Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Dec. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Griffin was well loved father, husband and brother. He worked as a brick mason for 45 years. He enjoyed wood working and was known for his skill of making belt buckles. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Essex.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Barbara Griffin; son, Kevin Karl Griffin; daughter, Kristina Kay Griffin Ellis; grandsons, Christopher Kevin Griffin (Joni) and William Griffin Ellis; great-grandson, Willium Roland Griffin; brothers, Harold Griffin (Mickey) and Paul Griffin (Cecilia); sister, Josie Chamblee (Jimmy); and a host of other family, nieces, nephews and friends.
