The wreck happened at about 6:30 a.m. when two vehicles collided on Fulton Springs Road between the two sets of railroad tracks on the road, said Alabaster Fire Chief Jim Golden.

After emergency responders arrived on the scene, they transported an adult victim by Lifesaver helicopter to UAB Hospital and transported a child victim by ambulance to Children’s Hospital, Golden said.

The wreck closed Fulton Springs Road, which connects U.S. 31 south of the Promenade Shopping Center to Alabama 119 near the Publix shopping center, for about an hour, Golden said.
