Alabaster residents will be able to end 2013 while touring one of the city’s biggest additions of the year, city officials announced during a recent meeting.

The city will host an open house at the new administration and court facility at 1953 Municipal Way from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 30-31.

The new building has been open since late September, and houses several city departments, such as administrative offices, building services and the Alabaster Board Of Education, which previously were spread out over several buildings.

The building has already begun hosting Alabaster School Board and City Council meetings, and holds Municipal Court sessions each week.

Light refreshments will be served during the open house sessions, said Alabaster City Manager George Henry.

The new City Hall is off 11th Avenue, which is off Alabama 119 next to the Alabaster Senior Center.

“Come and learn how this facility is enhancing services and increasing efficiencies for residents and stakeholders,” Henry wrote in an email.
