Betty Channell Gibson, of Vincent, age 77, passed away on Dec. 29, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral service will be held at Vincent First Baptist Church Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Lowe and Rev. Darrell Woods officiating. Visitation will be held at Vincent First Baptist Church Dec. 21 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.  Burial will take place at Vincent Cemetery.

Survivors include her sons, Dennis Gibson; Herbert (Sonny) Gibson (Sandra); grandchildren, Jeremy Gibson, Matthey Gibson, Misty Valenti (Jason), Jay Gibson (Julie) and Heather Gibson; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Gibson is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Grover Gibson Jr.; and son, Ralph Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Jason Valenti, Jeremy Gibson, Matthew Gibson, Jonathan Gibson, Steve Gibson and David Sanders.
