City of Chelsea hosting electronic waste collection Jan. 4

CHELSEA — The City of Chelsea will collect electronic waste, save televisions, as part of its E-Day event Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chelsea City Hall.

The public is invited to bring the following items for disposal:

  • Anything that plugs in, except televisions (Examples: refrigerators, dryers)
  • All types of metals (Examples: shelving, file cabinets)
  • All types of batteries, car included
  • Telephones/cell phones
  • Scanners
  • Print cartridges
  • Barbecue grills without gas tanks
  • Lawnmowers emptied of gasoline
  • Computer components ($10 disposal charge for hard drives)
  • Computer monitors ($7.50 disposal charge)
  • Power supplies

For the exception of computers and computer parts, all other items will be disposed of at no charge.
