HOOVER — Hoover Police need the public’s help in identifying a white female suspect who robbed an elderly woman and threw her to the ground in a supermarket parking lot Jan. 6.

The victim was walking in the parking lot at Publix off Doug Baker Boulevard when the suspect reached out of the passenger window of a small, silver vehicle and snatched the victim’s purse from her shoulder. The victim was thrown to the ground as the suspect and driver fled the scene.

About 30 minutes after the robbery, the suspect was caught on a surveillance camera using one of the victim’s stolen credit cards to make a purchase at a CVS Pharmacy in Pelham.
