Alabaster roads still hazardous, city resuming garbage collection

Several roads in Alabaster remained closed on the morning of Jan. 30, as icy conditions continued to make travel conditions dangerous.

 

The following roads in Alabaster were still closed as of 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 30:

-Shelby County 68, due to 18-wheelers

-First Avenue West from Navajo Trail to Shelby County 17 due to abandoned vehicles

-Weatherly Club Drive at Alabaster Boulevard due to abandoned vehicles

 

The following Alabaster roads are still considered dangerous for travel:

-Mission Hills Road is icy

-Navajo Hills subdivision is icy

-Smokey Road from Alabama 119 to Chestnut Drive

-Simmsville Road is icy

 

According to Allied Waste, the city’s garbage provider, trash collection will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“Please go ahead and put your trash at the curb,” read a release from Allied. “We will provide service as soon as possible.”
