The Celebration of the Shelby County Arts Council fashion show plans to appeal to all women, whatever price range, style and size.

Now in its seventh year, the show features children’s apparel. The Culture, Novella and Vignette Clubs of Shelby County sponsor the annual fundraiser, which will be Feb. 8 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Columbiana First Baptist Church.

Clubwomen will model fashions are from Cato of Chelsea, Cache at the Galleria and Ann Taylor at the Summit. Children will be dressed by Fireflies and Fairytales at Lee Branch.

Vignettes Lynn Cox will bring fashion commentary with assistance by Elizabeth Shelton. Miss Shelby County Holland Brown, Miss Shelby County Outstanding Teen Mikaylah Dugans, Ms. Senior Shelby County Cindy Nicolson and Isabella Powell, daughter of Columbiana FBC Minister of Music Charles Powell, will be celebrity models.

Cato, located across from Chelsea’s Wal-Mart on Highway 280 will bring affordable fashions from casual to dressy. Cato offers range of sizes: misses 4-18, plus 14-28 and girls 8-16. Cato also has jewelry, shoes, purses, lingerie, fragrances and more.

“We are very excited to bring our fashions to the SCAC fashion show,” Manager Deb Shelton said. “We have been here eight years and are the best kept secret in Shelby County. We pride ourselves on our personal customer service. We have new products every Monday and new clearance items most Sundays.”

Cache is a women’s boutique located at the Galleria with clothes from 0-14. Cache specializes in dresses and has a variety of evening gowns for proms, balls, and special occasions.

“The Cache woman is a sophisticated, self-confident and fashionable woman who comes to us for any event in her life,” Manager Jennifer Janik said.

Ann Taylor, located at the Summit, carries women’s clothing sizes 2-14 as well as petites.

The Celebration of the Shelby County Arts Council begins at 10 a.m. with an art sale. All proceeds benefit the SCAC. The luncheon begins at 11 a.m. with adult fashions by Chelsea’s Cato, Galleria’s Cache and Summit’s Ann Taylor.
