HARPERSVILLE—Morgan Creek winery is hosting a wine and chocolate tasting Saturday, Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Paula Tompkins, long time employee of the winery, said that the event is a chance to try the different varieties of wine Morgan Creek produces with a very unique pairing.

“I’ve been drinking wine for a long time and I never tried it with chocolate, but it’s so good,” she said. “(This event) is a lot of fun because it’s a new thing for a lot of people.”

The emphasis will be on Morgan Creek’s Red Mountain Red semi-sweet wine paired with truffles, which “leaves a velvety chocolate-covered cherry taste” in your mouth, Tompkins said.

The winery will be offering a full wine tasting of ten different varieties of wine.

In addition to the tasting, the winery will be offering tours of the facilities as well as Valentine’s Day gift options, which will be available for purchase.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 672-2053.
