William Dale Pickett

Mr. William Dale Pickett, age 83, of Montevallo (Pea Ridge), passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 in Alabaster. He was a decorated war veteran retired from the US Navy.

Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pearl Pickett; and four children, Carol Hucker (Steve), William Dale Pickett, Jr. (Lisa), Dale Pickett and David Wayne Pickett.  He is also survived by his brother, James P. “Hossie” Pickett; three grandchildren, James Pickett (Priscilla), Sarah Pickett and Joshua Pickett; and one great-grandchild, Austin Pickett.

Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by his sister, Georgeann “Tea Cake” Pickett.

There will be visitation for Mr. Pickett on Feb. 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel.  His service will also be at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel on Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 2 p.m. Services to be officiated by Rev. Ben Dailey.
