Clayton “Pops” E. McRee Sr.

Brent

Clayton “Pops” E. McRee Sr. of Brent, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at the age of 70. He was owner of McRee Construction for 35 years. He was a devoted and hard working husband, father and grandfather. Pops was one of the best construction minds of his time, and many of his men considered him to be the best boss a man could have. He will be missed and will live on in all those who worked for him or around him. Now, “it is finished.”

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene McRee; a son, Clay McRee (Debbie); one granddaughter, Mackenzie McRee; one sister, Sylvia Hill; one brother, Donnie McRee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Feb. 13, from noon-2 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South with Bro. David Grisham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Bibb County Humane Society. The family expresses their appreciation to the New Beacon staff, especially Elaine Lay and Page Landry.
