The world’s only three-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will take the stage at Pelham’s Oak Mountain Amphitheatre on May 2, marking one of his only concerts scheduled in the United States this year.

Eric Clapton will follow scheduled stops at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and at the Mud Island Amphitheater in Memphis, Tenn., with a May 2 appearance in Pelham before beginning his tour of Europe, according to Clapton’s website. The three concerts currently are the only ones scheduled for the United States this year.

He will appear with special guest ZZ Ward, according to Oak Mountain Amphitheatre officials.

In a Feb. 16 Facebook post, the Amphitheatre touted Clapton as the “biggest most well (known) artist to ever play Oak Mountain Amphitheatre,” and said Clapton’s concert will be a “historic night” at the venue.

Tickets for the concert are $129.50, $99.50 and $75.50 depending on seating preference. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21.

Clapton is the latest concert announcement for the Amphitheatre’s 2014 season. Other concerts include Lady Antebellum on April 12, Jason Aldean on May 10, the Dave Matthews Band on May 23, Journey and the Steve Miller Band on May 27 and Mötley Crüe on Aug. 15.
