HOOVER — A Hoover home remodeling company is the latest to join a nationwide program that provides a new roof at no cost to a deserving family in need.

Blair Remodeling at 2674 Valleydale Road is participating in No Roof Left Behind, which gives communities a chance to help a neighbor who has fallen on hard times, spokesman Ben Watson said.

“We will be giving two deserving families in our community a new roof at no cost to them,” Watson said, adding that the giveaways are set for this summer and Christmas. “We have been in the Birmingham area since 1965, we take a lot of pride in our community and we feel this is a great way to give back.”

Nominations can be submitted online at noroofleftbehind.com through April 1. Nominators can upload photos and a brief story about someone in need of a roof, including themselves. Next, volunteers review the nominees and select four finalists. The public will then vote on the four finalists, and the winner will be revealed online in June. Finally, the community comes together for an installation celebration.

“We want to make it a fun day for the community,” Watson said.
