Franklin Alverson, age 71, of Westover, passed away on March 7, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred F. Alverson and Verna Ruth Pardue Alverson. He was also preceded in death by grandson, Jacob T. Stewart. A memorial service will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea on March 11 at 2 p.m. with visitation from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be at Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana is directing.

Mr. Alverson is survived by his wife, Barbara Kendrick Alverson; daughter, Wyna Alverson Stewart, son-in-law Ronald D. Stewart; son, Christopher W. Alverson, daughter-in-law, Christy Alverson; grandchildren, Kristin Alverson, Taylor Stewart, Rachael Stewart, Jack Stewart, Eliot Saunders and Ginnie Saunders; sisters, Sharon McSwain and June Burroughs; brother, Terry W. Alverson; brothers-in-law, Bob McSwain and Clyde Burroughs; sister-in-law, Patricia Alverson; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the CVICU unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital for the love and care they provided to Mr. Alverson and his family during his illness.
