Roy Thomas “Tommy” Taylor, age 67, of Calera, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014. Tommy was from the panhandle area of Florida. He had been in the Shelby County area for the past 12-14 years where he worked at Burton Campers, Ernest McCartney Ford, Stokes Chevrolet and Bama Truss. His last employment was with Pioneer Telephone Directories located out of Dothan. His survivors include his soul mate, companion and caregiver, Diane Jones; sons, Tommy Ray Shedd and Steven Shedd both of Georgia; mother, Jackie Mathis; brother, Jimmy Taylor; sisters, Donna Pippin and Linda Potts, all of Graceville, Fla.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Georgia.

The family will have a private service here in Alabama and a memorial service later in Graceville, Fla. He will be greatly missed by all. Charter Funeral Home.
