HELENA—“Every small town needs a nice facility with big-time amenities,” said Terry Brasseale, owner of Helena Health Club, Helena’s newest fitness center on Highway 52 next to Taco Bell. And this is exactly what the club offers.

The gym is housed in a newly renovated building and is complete with a cardio center and weight area with state-of-the-art Nautilus equipment, a TRX section, spinning and fitness classroom, and spacious locker rooms. In addition, Helena Health Club offers seven classes from Zumba to Synergy 360, and is the only gym in the area to have childcare, said Brasseale.

Helena Health Club is not just a gym for dedicated athletes, it also welcomes beginners with classes and training for all fitness levels.

“Fitness is fitness, but we’re all about relationships and helping people reach their goals,” Brasseale said, noting his staff has more than 50 years of experience in fitness and gym management combined.

Brasseale owned Ironworks Gym in Bessemer, Ala., for nearly 30 years, and before that was the baseball coach at McAdory High School where he coached the likes of Bo Jackson. But after working in larger cities, Brassseale is happy to be in Helena.

“I love this community, it reminds me of my hometown,” said Brasseale, who grew up in Pleasant Grove, Ala. “When I first walked into the building, it just felt right.”

Helena Health Club opened on March 27, after a full day of moving in and setting up equipment.

“We bought up Helena Fitness, and I promised their people they would only miss one day of working out,” said Brasseale. “I’m a man of my word, so I made it work.”

Helena Health Club offers a variety of memberships and is open Monday through Thursday from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Classes are offered every day, beginning as early as 5:30 a.m. during the week.
