The Norfolk Southern railroad company will close its railroad crossing near the intersection of Shelby County 17 and Magnolia Drive on Monday, May 12 for repairs, according to Alabaster officials.

The company will close the crossing beginning at 8:30 a.m., and will reopen it at about 6:30 p.m., according to information released by the city.

“They have agreed to wait until (8:30 a.m.) to allow for school/work traffic to clear,” Alabaster City Manager George Henry wrote in an email, noting drivers should plan alternate travel routes during the crossing closure times.
