FROM STAFF REPORTS

PELHAM—The Alabama Wildlife Center is expecting! The nonprofit organization will receive approximately 1,000 baby bird patients this year. Community members are invited to a free and fun “Baby Bird Shower” at the AWC on May 10 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Guests will enjoy free cake and beverages, children’s activities, baby bird videos and get to view feedings and care in the baby nursery.

Don’t forget to bring a gift for the baby birds! Visit Awrc.org to see the baby bird wish list. AWC is also registered with Wild Birds Unlimited in Hoover and has a wish list on Amazon where items can be shipped directly to the center, making it easy for those who can’t attend but still want to support the AWC efforts.

The event is free after paid admission to Oak Mountain State Park, which is $1 per child ages 6 to 11 and seniors ages 62 and over, and $3 for adults.
