Montevallo announces 2014 spring beautification award winners

MONTEVALLO—Montevallo’s Arbor and Beautification Board announced the winners of this year’s Spring Beautification Awards.

The awards are based on curb appearance and creative design, attractive overall appearance, use of natural features, trees and other woody vegetation and color.

This year’s residential winner is Kevin Senecal and Doris Senecal, who won for their home located at 155 Techmseh.  Places two through six are Dean Nathews of 405 Shoshone Drive, Judy and David Morgan of 450 Hidden Valley, Catherine Heard of 281 Commerce St., Sylviane Price or 241 Vine St. and Minnie White of 315 Selma Road.

The apartment complex winners are Oak Park Apartments, Montevallo Villas, Town and Country Apartments and Briarwood.

The church winners are Montevallo First Baptist, Montevallo First United Methodist and Montevallo Presbyterian.

The business winners are Eclipse, Huddle House and Regions Bank.

The winners in the mini-farm category are 89 Keeler Mill Road, which was recently owned by Eddie and Freda Williams, and 2256 Salem Road, which is owned by Donnie and Deborah Kennedy.

The school and civic building winners are Parnell Library and Gardens, University of Montevallo and Hill House of UM.

Yard signs will be placed in the front of all first place winners.
