Donald Ray Mead, age 77, of Harpersville, passed away at his residence on May 25, 2014.

Visitation will be held at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel on May 28 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel on May 29 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jonah Dove officiating. Burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Mead; children, Susie Hardy (William), Tony Mead, Mike Mead (Connie) and Barbara Edwards (Anthony); grandchildren, John Hardy (Misty), Kathy Abbott (Greg), Carolyn Gallups (Shane), Zora Singleton, Tonya Mead, Steven Mead, Patrick Mead, Andy Mead (Jill), Matthew Patmon (Amber), Dalton Mead, Meaghan Mead, Kim Morris (Jeremy) and Amber Hatchett (Tim); great-grandchildren, Matthew Sims, Jordan Hardy, Madeline Hardy, Johnathan Hardy, Trina Wells, Timothy Martin, Justin Abbott, Tyler Abbott, Chris Abbott, Robert Morris, Jesse Morris, Chelsea Gallups, Summer Gallups, Kloe Gallups and Levi Hatchett; and great-great grandchildren, Austen Hardy and Derrick Sims.

Pallbearers are Andy Mead, Matthew Patmon, Johnathan Hardy, Justin Abbott, Steven Mead, Patrick Mead, Dalton Mead and Tyler Abbott.
