Elzie Cecil Minor, age 87, of Chelsea, was born on Aug. 14, 1926, and passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. The funeral service was held at noon, May 29, at The Connection Church with Pastor Greg Davis officiating. Burial followed in K-Springs Cemetery. Visitation was from 11 a.m.-noon, May 29, at The Connection Church. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana directed.

He was a life-long member of K-Springs Church of God now The Connection. He was also a member of The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).

Mr. Minor is preceded in death by his father, Wilford Dewey Minor; mother, Eunice Kendrick Minor; brothers, Wilford Dewey Minor Jr. and Billy Wayne Minor; sister, Christine Minor Craig (Verne); and a grandson, Tyler Vaughan.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edith Minor; sister, Mickey Minor Griffin (Harold); sister-in-law, Susie Minor (wife of Billy Minor); children, Cheryl Verdi (Rev. Frank), Steve Minor (Vicki) and Scott Minor (Sharon); grandchildren, Joni Vaughan, Jill Walden (Jerry), Amanda Minor and Gracie Minor; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
