ALABASTER – Alabaster drivers who typically travel down Industrial Road off U.S. 31 will need to find a new route for a couple of days this week.

The CSX Railroad company is planning to close its crossing on Industrial Road – which is across from the 1022 Tower and next to the Krystal restaurant – beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4. The crossing will reopen by the night of Thursday, June 5, according to information from the city of Alabaster.

The company is closing the railroad crossing as it makes upgrades and repairs to the crossing.

“CSX will, if possible, allow limited through movement on evening of (June 4), but this is not guaranteed,” read an email sent out by city officials.
