Larry Wayne Howard, age 74, of Sterrett, passed away June 1, 2014. He retired from the Shelby County Highway Department. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He is preceded in death by his sons, Jamie Lynn and Tracy Neil Howard.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Howard; daughter, Regina Pilkington (David); son, Jeffrey Howard (Janet); four grandchildren, April Minton, Jonathan Pilkington, Joshua Howard and Cody Howard; eight great-grandchildren, Payton, Avalynn, Mattie, Leslie Ann, Jayden, Haleybeth, Joelle and Hunter; brother, Bobby Howard (Bobbie); step-sisters, Martha McGinnis and Juanita Isbell; step-brother, Cecil Oakes; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on June 4 beginning at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Pleasant Site Cemetery. Visitation will be held June 3 beginning at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
