Adell Isbell Edmondson, age 98, of Columbiana, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Born in Columbiana, she was the second youngest child born to James Laney Isbell and Samantha Adams Isbell. She had three brothers and five sisters, all who preceded her in death. Adell attended Alabama College and Massey Business College; she worked as secretary to Mr. Handy Ellis then at DuPont during the war. She was then secretary to J.D. Harrison at First National Bank before starting with the Shelby County Highway Department where she worked for 29 years. She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Columbiana, being a member for more than 90 years.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on June 7 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana with Rev. Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Burial is to follow in Columbiana City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. on June 7 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana. Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana is directing.

Mrs. Edmondson is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, J.E. (Gene) Edmondson; parents, Laney and Samantha Isbell; and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Rev. Dr. Mac Stinson (Glenda), Mary Gene Denney (Robert), Dell Moody (Freddie); grandchildren, Dr. Mac Stinson (Annette), Dr. Glori Ann Short (Jon), Mary Skillman (Chris), John Denney (Carmon), Jeff Denney (Susan) and Ethan Moody (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Wesley Stinson (Lauren), Joshua Stinson, Patton, Hayden and Reagan Short, Macon and Sloan Skillman, Landon Denney, twins, Evan and Nathan Denney and Glaze Denney; great-great-grandchild, River Stinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
