HELENA—The upcoming wedding between former University of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron and beauty queen Katherine Webb has been the talk of sports and pop culture media nationwide.

“It’s like the royal wedding,” JoEllen Ramsey, owner of new Helena boutique Sassy Sisters, said.

Sassy Sisters was asked to put together a gift basket for the wedding, including gifts for the bride, groom and bridal party.

“A friend of Katherine’s was shopping in the store,” Ramsey explained. “It was spontaneous. I wanted to include all the local vendors I purchase from (in the gift basket.)”

The gifts included a table torch handmade by Kristi Watts of Polka Dots by Kristi, a burlap tea towel embroidered by Tammy Keener of Sew Cute Stitches, clothing by 19:26 Design and Stevilee, and earrings for the bride and bridesmaids from Beth Menke of One Red Bead.

Each gift was personalized for the couple and for the wedding, from a monogrammed beach cover-up for the bride, to matching golf shirts and visors for the couple, to earrings for the bridal party made of peach jade, aurora borealis stone and freshwater pearls matching the wedding’s color scheme. The basket also included a note to the couple from Sassy Sisters, wishing them “happiness forever,” Ramsey said.

“The excitement was just unbelievable,” Ramsey said of the experience.

And the care and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed by Webb, who showed her appreciation in an Instagram comment with hearts and a smiley face.

“She’s not just pretty on the outside, she’s pretty on the inside,” Ramsey said of former Miss Alabama and bride-to-be Webb.

Sassy Sisters carries many items similar to the one’s included in the gift basket, if you’re looking for your own piece of the McCarron and Webb wedding. They also carry many unique items made by local craftspeople so you can find your own style. The new boutique, located at 4290 Highway 52, is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
