HOOVER — Several of the best high school baseball teams in the county — and the country — are participating in the Hoover Baseball Club’s National High School Summer Showcase, held June 12-14.

The showcase features more than 40 teams from across the country, including Tennessee, Mississippi and Florida. Local squads include Chelsea, Pelham, Spain Park and Oak Mountain.

The tournament began at 9 a.m. on June 12, and features games starting at 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with the final games set to start June 13 at 4:30 p.m.

The showcase was broken down into varsity and junior varsity divisions, with games taking place at Hoover High, Spain Park High, Spain Park Recreational Complex, Pelham High, Homewood High, Shades Mountain Community Park and the Hoover Met.
