Looking for something to do to celebrate America’s birthday over the next few weeks? Several Shelby County cities are holding celebrations ranging from fireworks to historic re-enactments.

The following cities are holding Independence Day celebrations:

 

ALABASTER: (and Kingwood Church)

Celebrate America!

June 28, 7-10 p.m.

Veterans Park in Alabaster

KidZone, live music from EveryDay but Friday, food vendors, firework show

 

CHELSEA

Big KABOOM!

July 3, begins 6 p.m.

Chelsea Park Subdivision

Pre-firework entertainment, food vendors

 

COLUMBIANA

Liberty Day , 29th Annual

June 27-28, begins 7 p.m. Friday – Saturday night

Downtown Columbiana

Parade (3:30 p.m.), live music, museum tours, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, kids activities, Hall of Memories (First Baptist Church), signing autographs from Miss Shelby County and Miss Alabama, fireworks, etc.

 

MONTEVALLO

Independence Day, 1776

July 4, 11:30 a.m. – evening fireworks

The American Village

Fun, food and fireworks – meet American historical figures, witness battle between the Patriots and the Redcoats, join Ball, watch history come alive.

$5 ages 5+; veterans and active military free
