Mary Ann Thompson, age 79 of Columbiana, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on July 10 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Bolton Funeral Home is directing. Burial is to follow in Columbiana City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on July 9 at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana. She was born in Columbiana on Sept. 14, 1934. She was a legal secretary, served as Chairman of The Shelby County Board of Registrars, a member of the Novella Club and First Baptist Church of Columbiana.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her parents, Felman Leon Dorough and Louise Cosper Dorough; husband, Billy C. Thompson; son, Ronald Lewis Thompson; and brother, Felman Leon “Sonny” Dorough.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Fawal (Salem); son, Michael C. Thompson; grandchildren, Caroline, Abbey, Madison, Payton and R.J.; sisters, Betty Bird, Patsy McCombs and Nancy Moore (Wilburn); brother, Michael C. Dorough (Linda); sister-in-law, Barbara DeLemos Dorough; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
