Shelby County Speedway is nearing the halfway point of its season, and the action is heating up along with the temperatures outside. Fierce point battles are taking place in each of the racing classes, and each of the competitors look to take home a track championship at season’s end in October.

IN the buzz class, Sam Martin held the points lead for the month of June, while Robert McCain held the points lead in the Street/Hobby class through May.

Sam Ramsey held the first place in points for the Super Pony through May, and the Outlaw/Thunder class is still wide open, with Mark Price looking to clinch the championship.

Daniel Lutz was atop the May points standings for the Crate Late Model class, and Kyle Smith found himself in first place in the Hogg class through May.

The next double points weekend is scheduled for Labor Day, with the Championship Races dates to be announced.
