Clyde R. Joiner, of Columbiana, left this life on Saturday, July 26, 2014, to live with his Lord. He was born 92 years ago to parents, Stella Vick Joiner and Jack John Joiner near Columbiana. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on July 29 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on July 28 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Shortly after graduating at Shelby County High School, Clyde enlisted in the Army (10th Armored Division) engaging in combat including The Battle of the Bulge. Clyde was a faithful part of First Baptist Church of Columbiana for over 50 years, serving as Sunday School teacher and deacon among other offices. He was a nature lover of all things outdoor, especially meeting on the golf course with friends and relatives.

Mr. Joiner is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence Joiner and Conrad Howell; sister, Mildred Joiner Keown; son, Stephen Joiner; and granddaughter, Courtney Pettijohn Pate.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Eaves Joiner; children, Ray Joiner (Vicky), Vicki Pettijohn (Richard); brothers, Homer (Barbara), Hubert (Christine) and Leonard (Jane); sisters, Mable Hadaway (Bob), Mary Nell Weldon (Dan); nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many close relatives and friends.
