Lila Mae Bodnar

Toledo, Ohio

Lila Mae Bodnar, 95 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, in The Lutheran Village at Wolf where she was a resident for the past several years. Lila was born on Dec. 9, 1918, in Maylene, to Elias and Effie (Layton) Bowlin. Lila worked as a sales clerk for the former Robert Hall Clothing Store. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her life.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Bodnar; brothers, Harvey, Paul and Charles Bowlin; sisters, Minnie Grant, Dorothy Barnes and Pauline Holsombach.

Surviving is her daughter, JoAnn Scott (Charles Sr.); grandchildren, Charles Scott Jr. (Laurie), Robert Scott (Letta), great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Scott, Joseph Scott, C.J. Scott, John Scott and Connor Scott; nieces, Marlene Appleton (Scotty) and Jackie Davis. Also, surviving is her special friend, Harley.

The family received friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd., at Byrne Road on July 23 from 4-8 p.m. where services were held on July 24 at 10:30 a.m. Interment followed in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family would like to thank the staff at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek for their many kindness and excellent care.  In addition, the family expresses their gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for their thoughtful care.
