“We the People” Must Choose Our Foundation

I firmly believe our great nation is at a pivotal point in a “Spiritual battle” that will determine who “We the People” will contract with to build America’s future. Our founding fathers fully understood the value of building our young nation on a rock solid foundation of Christian values. However, over the years, a growing majority of “We the People” have obviously grown weary of fighting to elect people who are personally grounded by God’s word.

Matthew 7:26-27 “And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Jesus wasn’t actually talking about sand like we see on our beaches in his parable that is quoted in Matthew 7. He was referring to those individuals who turn their backs on the moral and ethical rock of integrity that’s at the foundation of our Christian faith. (Have we gradually been persuaded to turn from our pastors to our politicians for direction and reassurance on building our future)?

In recent years approximately 75 percent of Alabama’s “We the People” have chosen not to participate in local elections. Our judges, sheriffs, mayors, city council members, county commissioners, tax assessors and school boards are being selected by approximately 25 percent of “We the People.”

Why have increasing numbers of “We the People” chosen not to be involved in selecting individuals who have the greatest day-to-day influence over keeping our neighborhoods safe and shaping our children’s future? Local neighborhoods are our country’s foundation. (That’s where “We the People” live!)

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

God Bless America!!!
