PELHAM—A Bessemer man and woman were arrested by the Pelham Police Department on Aug. 8, and charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and second-degree property theft.

Clarence Jimal Anderson, 24, and Ebone Lashaun Eirby, 25, were apprehended by Pelham police on Aug. 8 and each charged with five counts of breaking and entering a vehicle, five counts of second-degree property theft and one count of illegal possession of a credit or debit card.

According to arrest warrants, Anderson and Eirby allegedly broke into five vehicles on three separate dates, stealing items from each.

On June 20, Anderson and Eirby allegedly broke into a 2003 Hummer H2, stealing a purse containing an undisclosed amount of money, and allegedly broke into a 2012 Jeep Liberty, taking a purse containing an undisclosed amount of money, various credit cards and Xanax.

On June 28, Anderson and Eirby allegedly broke into a 2010 Kia Sedona, taking a driver’s license and credit cards.

On July 25, Anderson and Eirby allegedly broke into a 1999 Honda Odessy, taking a purse containing an undisclosed amount of money, credit cards and debit cards, and allegedly broke into a 2014 Honda Pilot, taking a cell phone, an undisclosed amount of money and a Bank of America debit card.

Breaking and entering a vehicle, second-degree theft of property and illegal possession of a credit/debit card are all Class C felonies. If convicted, Anderson and Eirby could each face up to 10 years in prison per charge.

Anderson also has a pending second-degree theft of property charge in Jefferson County.

Anderson and Eirby were placed in the Shelby County Jail on Aug. 6, and are each being held on bonds totaling $165,000.
