Sem Edsell Grizzell, an incomparably kind, gracious and loving man, passed away at the age of 79 on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014.

“Edsell” proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. St. Paul. He was married to the former Delora Faye Dawkins on April 12, 1957. Edsell was a faithful member of Hickory Hills Church in Alabaster.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Faye, of Chelsea; brother, Lionel Grizzell (Jane); numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; special friend, Jerrial Williams and family; and special friend, D.L. Early.

The celebration of Edsell’s life was Aug. 11 at Hickory Hills Church, Alabaster, followed by the committal service at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.

Active pallbearers were Bryant Phillips, Stephen Dawkins, Dustin Smith, Matt Dawkins, John David Genry, Randy Williams, Skyler Williams and Adam Lowery.
