Jeanette Palmer Nash, 78, died on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice. Born on April 3, 1936, in Tupelo, Miss., she was a daughter of the late Arlie Jewette and Burma Lee Patton Palmer.
Jeanette graduated from Fulton High School in 1954. On Dec. 26, 1954, she married Darwin Artie “Dub” Nash. After 30 years of service, she retired from South Central Bell as a long distance information operator. Jeanette was a member of Jackson Church of Christ. Moving from Jackson, she had lived in Tupelo since October. Strong, independent, giving, caring and always helping others, she enjoyed her family and music, especially bluegrass, country and gospel. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include her sisters, Janell Palmer of Pelham, Dorothy Kennedy (Lee) of Amory, Miss., Frances Dill (Norris) of West Point, Miss., Linda Doss (Henry) of Amory, Miss., and Joyce Cantrell (David) of Saltillo, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Mauvolene Trembelas of Amory, Miss., and Dorothy Nash of Hatley, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arlie Lee, Edward Trice, Charles Jr., Boyce Wayne and Cecil Allen Palmer.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 29 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Pastor Jackie Gray officiating. Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers were David and Anthony Camp; Carson Cook; Lee Kennedy; and Michael and Tony Palmer. Honorary pallbearers were David Dallas Jr.
