PELHAM—When 2-year-old Kenna Parramore was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on June 19, her classmates and community at Covenant Classical School of Pelham rallied behind her and her family in support.

“Kenna is a Covenant Classical School student, although she is undergoing chemotherapy right now,” CCS Marketing Manager Roni Quang said. “She’s been going to CCS since she was a little baby girl.”

On Sept. 13, the CCS Pelham campus, at 450 Huntley Parkway, is hosting the Vendor Bazaar, a fundraiser to support the Parramore family. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. attendants will be able to browse goods from a number of local craftspeople.

“We thought this would be a good way to get people outside of CSS involved,” Quang said. “The list (of vendors) is really stacking up, we have a lot of parents who do that stuff (crafts) on the side.”

The Sept. 13 Vendor Bazaar features a variety of items, including crafts, hair bows, beauty products, essential oils, clothing and jewelry, to name a few. Vendors participating in the Saturday event paid a $25 vendor fee, every dollar of which “goes straight to Kenna,” Quang said.

Additionally, many local businesses, including Ballantrae golf course, Joe’s Italian and VisionFirst, donated items for raffles that will be held throughout the day. Proceeds from raffle tickets go to Kenna and the Parramore family, Quang said.

“They’ve been so gracious to the event,” Quang said of the local business and vendors participating in the Vendor Bazaar.

In addition to the Vendor Bazaar, students at CCS have also been raising money for the Parramore family by selling Enjoy the City coupon books, Quang said.

“The community has ben great getting behind (this cause),” Quang said. “It’s been such a blessing to see how many people want to chip in.”

All are invited to attend the September 13 Vendor Bazaar, and entry to the event is free.

“We’d like for everyone to come out and have a good time,” Quang said.
