Vincent runs by Fayetteville

The Vincent Yellow Jackets got back to .500 with a win over region foe Fayetteville on Sept. 19.

The Yellow Jackets took down the Wolves, 34-12 at home, and moved to 2-0 in AHSAA Class 2A, Region 4 competition.

Jacorey Roper led the Jackets passing, going 6-for-14 for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Roper also had 73 yards rushing with a touchdown, while Arshon Willis had 37 yards on the ground with a score. Jace Green also posted a rushing touchdown in the contest.

Tavius Smith paced the Vincent receiving corps with two catches for 97 yards and a touchdown, while Green had 53 yards receiving and a score.

With the win, the Jackets find themselves in a three-way with R.C Hatch and Pickens County tie for first place in the division. Vincent will take a break from region play to travel to 3A opponent B.B. Comer on Sept. 26.
