Frank R. Griffin, age 84, of Maylene passed away on Thursday, Sept. 25 at his residence. Frank was known for establishing the Fox Valley Apartments. He served his country proudly in the US Army. Also he loved being a very productive person and had a passion for deep sea fishing and red horse fishing.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Bertie Griffin, and his loving wife of 62 years Martha Parsons Griffin. He is survived by his sons: Frank Alan Griffin (Susan) of Helena, Danny Charles Griffin of Maylene and John Owen Griffin (Dawn) of Brierfield; brother, Charles R. Griffin of Alabaster; two special “daughters:”Kelly Griffin and Susie Price; eight grandchildren: Danny Frank Griffin (Melissa), Frank Owen Griffin, Jamie Joseph Griffin (Amy), Kimberly Erin Griffin, Kelsey Ann Griffin (Nathan), Derek Adam Griffin, Rhianna Isabella Griffin, and Savannah Lynn Griffin; four great-grandchildren: Peyton Elise Griffin, Sawyer Claire Griffin, Lemley Owen Griffin, and Zoey Taylor Grier, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel; followed by the committal service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Maylene, Alabama. Dwight Joyner and Shane Joyner are officiating.
