MONTEVALLO–Three-year-old Claudia Hamrick, recent winner of the Little Miss Alabama Pageant, will now move on to represent the state of Alabama in November for the Baby Miss America Pageant.

The Little Miss Alabama Pageant was held about a month ago online and Beckie Hamrick, Claudia’s mother, submitted a photo and resume of her and later found out Claudia was the winner.

The Little Miss Alabama Pageant was an all-natural pageant involving no make-up or fake tans of any kind. The same rules will apply to the Baby Miss America Pageant.

Beckie Hamrick said her daughter has been doing pageants since she was just a year old and explained that she never really thought about entering her in pageants until she actually did one.

“I was a tomboy growing up, so I never thought about doing pageants when I was little,” said Beckie. “I have two teenage boys also and once I had Claudia we entered her in a pageant one time and she loved it.”

Claudia and Beckie are supposed to travel to Dallas, Texas on Thanksgiving weekend for the Baby Miss America Pageant, but according to the pageants Facebook post, the pageant has now been moved from Dallas due to the Ebola threats.

Beckie and Claudia are currently trying to raise money for their travel and lodging expenses, as they will be spending three days in November at the pageant.

Claudia has a GoFundMe website where anyone can donate to help out with their expenses.
