FROM STAFF REPORTS
Did you know that November is National “Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month?” Shelby Humane has many wonderful senior pets available for adoption, and Tiddley and Capt. America are two we thought we would share with you!
Tiddley is a 12-year-old female miniature poodle mix. This sweet girl has been waiting for her forever home since late August after the loss of her owner. Don’t let her senior status fool you because you are only as old as you feel, and she feels great! Remember age is only a number. She passed her behavior test with flying colors and would make the best snuggle buddy.

Capt. America is a 6-year-old male jack russell terrier mix. This old soul is so obedient and gentle; he’ll be by your side no matter where you are. We had his last weight at 18 pounds and he would love nothing more than to cuddle with you on the couch and is ready to find his forever home!

Thanks to a grant from the Daniel Foundation of Alabama, senior citizens (ages 60 and older) approved for adoption at our shelter can now have their adoption fee waived when matched up with a senior pet (6 years or older). We are open for adoptions Tuesday-Saturday noon-5:30p.m. For more information, email djohnson@shelbyhumane.org or call 669-3916 Ext. 2005. Choose Shelby Humane Society and give life a chance!
