HELENA-CSX plans to close the railroad crossing located at Shelby County 261 just north of the Buck Creek Bridge in Helena for repairs on Nov. 20, the Alabama Department of Transportation confirmed on Nov. 10.

The crossing will be closed for repairs at 8 a.m. on Nov. 20 and CSX plans to reopen the roadway before 5 p.m. on the same day.

Local police will direct traffic through an alternative detour route following Shelby County 52, U.S. 31 and Bearden Road while the crossing is repaired.

The Nov. 20 railroad crossing closure and repairs are weather permitting. More information will be released as it becomes available.
