Erling C. Valerius, age 86, of Columbiana, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana is directing.
Mr. Valerius was an Eagle Scout and served in the Navy for 2 years. He pastored several churches in Florida and was a missionary to Brazil for 30 years. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Columbiana.
Mr. Valerius is survived by wife, Carrie W. Valerius; daughters, Carol Ann McClung (Donald), Janet Brewer (Ronnie), Marian Hicks (Wade), Gail McKinley (Keith), Julia Wiley (Jack); 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous additional family and friends.
The family is accepting flowers but memorial gifts may be sent to First Baptist Church of Columbiana designated for the International Mission Board or the Bus Fund.
