Small Business Saturday is coming this weekend—a perfect day to shop locally in Helena. Heart & Soul Consignment and Boutique that opened officially back in May is just one such Old Town business participating Nov. 29.
Owners Tiffany Seale and Renee Weidler, both of whom previously worked in consignment stores, are excited to have their own high-end label consignment shop.
Tiffany has long been a crafter whose favorite material is burlap. She is best known for her decorative wooden crosses styled with assorted embellishments and also her scented candles that are wrapped in burlap and bling.
Tiffany also refinishes old furniture and old frames for customers, and she will consign them in the store after refurbishment. See her assorted bulletin boards and earring caddies made from up-cycled/recycled parts.
The store began more as consignment clothing and accessories, but has gradually acquired a number of local artists’ wares.
Heart & Soul now carries mosaic-framed mirrors made by Jenni Holzaver. They have Husky themed felt barrettes, bows and headbands made by Kristi Causey and Husky stickers from Shella Herring.
They have a variety of Alabama-themed jewelry as well as decorative holiday-themed wooden items made by Lindsey Magno.
Several lines of T-shirts and sweatshirts are stylish and cute and come in for both children and adult sizes. Check out their Sweet Home Alabama and Merry and Bright designs from Cahaba Blue that are printed locally.
Also, they carry PW Designs T-shirts. Parker Wilson, the son of Helena teacher Alan Wilson, was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis at the age of 9. Parker says he stays active and involved with his church group and uses the proceeds from his T-shirts to raise money for the mission trips he takes.
Heart and Soul, at 4252 Helena Road, is currently accepting fall and winter items. Their 50-50 policy places clothing for sale for 90 days. They will pick up if you call (205) 616-9650. Also, check their FB page for specials and new arrivals.
