Services for Sofia Meletha George, 21, of Texarkana, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home with Rev. David Gilmer officiating. Interment will be in Kelsey Cemetery under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
Born on Oct. 12, 1993, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert Mark and Alice Elaine Thorn George, she entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Nov. 22. She was a student at Texarkana College and Texas A&M College at Texarkana. She was a waitress/bartender at the Olive Garden in Texarkana.
She is survived by her mother, Elaine George of Gilmer; paternal grandmother, Clara Faye George of Little Rock, Arkansas; maternal grandparents, Bobby and Barbara Thorn of Gilmer; one brother, Nathan George of Gilmer; and three sisters, Nadia Ray of Longview, Sasha George and Mia George, both of Gilmer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mark George, and grandfather, Darrell Lenon George.
Pallbearers will be Kade Martin, Jade Martin, Patrick Ray, Kameron Smith, Jordan Browning and Nathan George.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
