Elma Rogers Northington Comer, age 83, of Helena, passed away Nov. 24. Elma was born Aug. 22, 1931 in Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Rogers and Claudie Lee Carr; two husbands, Clyde Northington and Hubert C. Comer; five sisters and one brother.
Survivors are her precious children, Jeff Northington (Susan) and Beth Watts; the great loves of her life – her grandchildren, Emily Marie Watts and Brandon Clay Northington; sister, Betty Joe Taylor of Vernon and her brother in law, Kenneth Taylor.
Elma was a member of First Baptist Church of Montevallo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 10-11 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Vernon, with a graveside service to follow at 11 a.m. at Lamar Memory Gardens.
Elma’s favorite charities were Autism Society of Alabama, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, and Jimmy Hale Mission in Birmingham.
