Clifton D. Osburn, also known as “Cliff” or “Red”, age 72, of Alabaster, formerly of Selma, passed away Nov. 30 at his home.
On November 30, 1961, Cliff & Glenda went on their first date. They were wed on March 20, 1965. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Calera.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife for over 49 years, Glenda Jowers Osburn; daughters, Rhonda Osburn Wade of Andalusia, Kimberly Osburn Sanders of Dothan, Candyce Osburn Hughston (Terry) of Northport, and Ambur Hope Osburn of Alabaster; son, Dewayne P. Osburn (DonDee) of Calera; five grandchildren; and his brother, William V. Osburn (Mary) of Jemison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton P. & Mary Nelline Osburn of Selma; granddaughter, Emily Alexis Thomas; and adopted sister, Tena Osburn.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). The funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church, where he will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Bro. Daryle Nichols will officiate and burial will be at Dargin Cemetery in Calera.
Serving as pallbearers are Ronald Jowers, Caleb Osburn, Skyler Sanders, Dewayne Osburn, Garth Osburn and Andy Echols; and honorary pallbearers, William Osburn and Randall Ray.
