PELHAM—The halls of Pelham’s Linda Nolen Learning Center were filled with holiday cheer on Dec. 17 as students presented their annual Christmas show to friends and family.

Student Eli Bennett opened the show, leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Then, students took to the festively decorated stage to present “Snowmen at Christmas,” while the choir sang Christmas favorites such as “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and “Jingle Bells.”

“All the classrooms participated with making something for the program,” program director and LNLC teacher Kelly Godwin said. “Every kid has a part.”

Each student played a role in the Christmas performance, whether acting out scenes on stage or singing in the choir.

“(The show) gives them the opportunity to be in the spotlight… and show off what they can do,” LNLC Principal Michele Shepherd said. “Everyone can participate at the Linda Nolen Learning Center.”

A lot of hard work went into the special Christmas production, from transforming the auditorium into a winter wonderland to practicing each scene and song.

“It was a whole lot of work (and) a whole lot of practices,” Shepherd said. “Our staff shows a great deal of dedication to our kids.”

The Christmas production is an annual tradition at the LNLC and something the students and faculty look forward to each year.

“The kids really love it,” Godwin said, adding her favorite part of the performance is “watching the kids do it, hearing them sing and seeing them smile.”
