Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Killingsworth, age 81, of Calera went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 17 in her home surrounded by family. Betty was a Kindergarten Teacher for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Eugene and Johnnie Louise Alexander; husband, Cecil Killingsworth; granddaughter, Joy Killingsworth; and brother, Byron Alexander.
Her surviving relatives include two sons, Steve Killingsworth (Joan) and Greg Killingsworth (Judy); two grandchildren, Patricia Littleton (Steven) and Ashley Killingsworth (Jason); two great-grandchildren, Travis and Kylie Johnson; brother, Bill Alexander (Norma); and sister-in-law, Delores Alexander.
Visitation will be held at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Calera Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 6-8 p.m. for friends. She will lie-in-state on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the church from 1-2 p.m. followed by service at 2 p.m. Bro. Bill Alexander, Bro. Don Vanderslice, Bro. Curtiss Hipps will officiate her service. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
