MONTEVALLO–The Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church will be hosting a Military Armed Forces Veterans Appreciation Day on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m.

The purpose of the day is to honor the men and women who are or have served in the military.

The church is requesting that anyone with a military background submit a photograph along with a small biography about the individual to be honored. The church requests that the biography be kept to minimum of a paragraph and no more than a page long according to the press release.

The biography and photo will be displayed on the wall on the celebration day as Ward Chapel plans to make this an annual event.

The church asks that if possible, men or women who plan to attend also wear their military uniforms.
